Marilyn McClendon, Minister of Family Life
A friend gave me a plaque that reads "Jesus Loves You, but I'm his favorite". If God has favorites I think it would be me! I am so blessed to be able to live out my relationship with Jesus here in Maine and to minister with the people of SouthCoast and in the area.
It is my joy to work with people of all ages and to see their lives change as they come to know Christ and then to grow in that relationship. Not only am I being blessed, but I am also having the best time of my life!
My life verse is "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Courtney Sullivan, Intern
Courtney Sullivan was recently appointed as a semester intern by the North American Mission Board to serve with SouthCoast. Courtney has been active at SCCC for the past four years, working with our summer interns and various ministries, both on campus and at SCCC, as well as participating in collegiate/young adult small groups. Courtney is a senior at USM and will graduate in May.
Courtney will be responsible for on campus ministry with college students - organizing, enlisting leaders and implementing small groups and outreach activities/events on campus. Courtney will also be involved in age graded ministries at SCCC and other ministries as needed. We are blessed by Courtney’s willingness to serve with SCCC and we welcome her to our staff as a semester intern.
Christine Ellis, Semester Missionary
Christine Ellis of Mississippi recently completed her ministry with the North American Mission Board to serve with SouthCoast during the spring semester, 2010. Christine graduated from Mississppi State in December, 2009 and will be attending Southeastern Theological Seminary in the fall. We are blessed that Christine served with us during this past semester and pray for God's continued guidance in her life.
Summer Interns
Summer interns serving at SouthCoast will arrive on the field Tuesday, June 1 to minister with us for ten weeks. This summer seven students from Tennessee and Mississippi will serve with us in a variety of ministries and opportunities. Please pray for these students as they serve this summer:
Kelsie Davis, TN - will work with children's camp, age graded ministries, outreach, servant projects and weeky ministries.
Bethany Stringfield, TN - will work with children's camp, age graded ministries, outreach, servant projects and weekly ministries.
Katie Davis, MS - will work with children's camp, age graded ministries, outreach, servant projects and weekly ministries.
Meisha Lenoir, MS - will work with children's camp, age graded ministries, outreach, servant projects and weekly ministries.
Chesney Tedder, MS - will work with children's camp, age graded ministries, outeach, servant projects and weekly ministries.
Scott Bess, TN - will work within the Greater Portland area locating ethnic populations/nationality groups, ministry needs and outreach opportunities, minister with age graded ministry at SCCC, outreach ministry in apartment complexs, and weekly ministries.
